YouTube Brand Partners and Advertisers

It’s great that you want to promote your YouTube channel or content and we’re happy to help. You’re welcome to use the YouTube name and logo as long as you adhere to the guidelines below and the logo usage guidelines.



✓ Use the standard YouTube logo on external sites or in marketing communications (e.g. speaking to fans, in promotional collateral, in marketing campaigns or ads) to promote your channel and content.

✓ Use the standard logo in the context of driving traffic to your channel.

✓ Use the logo as a link if the destination URL is your channel.

✓ Show your channel in ads for your products and/or services.

Do not…

✘ Use the logo to imply a deep relationship or strategic partnership with YouTube.

✘ Use the logo as a link to destination URLs which are not on the YouTube website.

✘ Modify our logo or your channel for use in your promotional material or ads.

✘ Modify the YouTube word mark through any other alterations including hyphenation, combination, abbreviation or acronyms (e.g. Tubing, Tuber, YT, You-Tube, YouTubed, etc.). It is acceptable to reference “YouTubers” as long as you are referring to creators or viewers of YouTube video content.

✘ Sub license your brand channel to show it in product placement.

✘ Display the YouTube logo on a site that violates the YouTube Terms of Service.

✘ Display a YouTube trademark in a manner that is misleading, unfair, defamatory, infringing, libelous, disparaging, obscene or otherwise objectionable to YouTube.

✘ Display a YouTube trademark on any web site or user interface that contains or displays adult content, promotes gambling, promotes violence, contains hate speech, involves the sale of tobacco or alcohol to persons under twenty-one years of age, violates other applicable laws or regulations or is otherwise objectionable.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Here are some good and bad examples of using the YouTube logo:

The latest logos can be downloaded from the “Downloads” section of this site.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The standard logo should not be placed on a red background, due to a lack of visibility and prominence. Use the one color logo instead in white or black.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The color logo should not be repeated in channel art because it is redundant with the YouTube logo on the website. Third Party Approvals

  • You are responsible for getting third party approvals from relevant content owners for any content you upload to YouTube that doesn’t belong to you.
  • You must ensure you have the appropriate third party approval from relevant content owners if you show any content in promotional material.
  • YouTube doesn’t negotiate permissions on behalf of our partners. You must contact the image or video owner directly to secure appropriate permissions.
  • By uploading to YouTube, you guarantee that you have the necessary rights to upload. YouTube reserves the right to remove any content from the site that may violate its Terms or Community Guidelines.

Here’s how to use the logo.

Any usage not addressed by the guidelines presented here needs special approval and must be submitted in English through the Brand Use Request Form for review. Please allow up to a week for a reply. For non-English requests, you should reach out to your YouTube Partnerships counterpart. YouTube reserves the right to object to any inappropriate uses of its trademarks and to enforce its rights at any time.
