Stowarzyszenie "Jeden świat" SCI Poland

Stowarzyszenie „Jeden Świat” działa w Poznaniu od 1994 r. i jest polskim oddziałem międzynarodowej organizacji Service Civil International (SCI).
Misją Stowarzyszenia jest promowanie idei pokoju oraz porozumienia między ludźmi poprzez międzynarodowy i krajowy wolontariat oraz programy edukacyjne. Wierzymy, że wszyscy ludzie mogą żyć razem w atmosferze wzajemnego zrozumienia i rozwiązywać konflikty bez uciekania się do przemocy.
Od 2004 roku posiadamy status Organizacji Pożytku Publicznego.

Naszą misję realizujemy poprzez:
- międzynarodowy wolontariat krótkoterminowy (czyli workcampy);
- projekty wolontariatu długoterminowego;
- programy edukacyjne;
- szkolenia i seminaria;
- promowanie bezinteresownej pomocy oferowanej drugiemu człowiekowi.

Praca wolontariacka to nie tylko dawanie siebie innym, to także realizowanie własnych zadań, rozwijanie swoich zdolności, poznawanie ludzi żyjących w zupełnie inny sposób, mających inne potrzeby i problemy.
Członkiem Stowarzyszenia może być każda osoba podzielająca nasze idee.
Obecnie jest około 500 osób na liście członków (zwyczajnych i wspierających). Wszystkie te osoby określamy mianem wolontariuszy.

One World Association, the Polish branch of Service Civil International, is a non-governmental organisation, which promotes a culture of peace and mutual understanding by means of international voluntary projects for people of all ages and backgrounds, local initiatives and programmes of education.
By "opening" one person to another we want to raise social awareness, break down barriers and prejudices and build world of mutual respect and understanding.
The association has existed since 1992, registered officially in Poznań in 1994. From the very beginning One World Association has acted as a part of the international peace organization Service Civil International (SCI).

What we do:
- international short-term projects (workcamps);
- long-term voluntary projects;
- global education programmes;
- workshops, seminars, trainings, documentary projections and discussions, narrative/musical spectacles and other cultural and educational activities;
- publications and educational materials.

Voluntary work is not only offering oneself for others. It is also realising one's goals, developing one's skills, meeting people who live in a different way, have different needs and different problems.
By offering help, by working together, by showing understanding and by mutual learning, one can enter true friendship in the same town as well as in different continent. A smile, joy, a good word are the best reward for volunteer's work.
Every person sharing our ideas can become a member of the association.
