Peter Bažík: “Tvoriť hudbu je niečo úžasné”

Aj komorné koncerty majú veľké čaro. A koncert Petra Bažíka ho určite mal. (to aký bol koncert, si môžeš prečítať tu: link).

Po koncerte som špeciálne pre náš MaY spravila rozhovor s týmto skvelým hudobníkom.

Na začiatok pár informácií o Petrovi:

Peter Bažík sa narodil 21.6.1985. Na slovenskej hudobnej scéne pôsobí nielen ako spevák a multiinštrumentalista, ale aj ako skladateľ a producent, ktorému sú blízke tóny rocku. Pochádza z Oravy, je z veľkej rodiny muzikantov a už od detstva má veľmi blízko k hudbe. Venuje sa hre hlavne na gitare, husliach, klavíri a bicích.

Svoju husľovú kariéru si začal budovať na žilinskom konzervatóriu a po nečakanej účasti v súťaži začal so spevom.

Tou súťažou bola show Slovensko hľadá Superstar 2, kde skončil na 4. mieste a stal sa jedným z najúspešnejších spevákov tohto ročníka. Tak sa dostal ľuďom do povedomia.

Neskôr sa zúčastnil nielen ako súťažiaci, ale aj ako porotca vo viacerých speváckych súťažiach. Začal budovať svoju umeleckú agentúru a rozbehol viacero projektov, vďaka ktorým pomáha mladým slovenským speváckym talentom.

Jeho veľký talent sa naplno ukázal, keď vyhral československú verziu svetovej speváckej show XFactor v roku 2014.

Taktiež vo voľnom čase rád šoféruje, ako sám povedal: „jeho deti sú jeho športom“ a každý jeden deň berie ako motiváciu.

Aj vďaka rozhovoru som sa presvedčila, že Peter nie je „hudobník s neprimerane veľkým sebavedomím“, ale charizmatický človek s veľkou dávkou pozitívnej energie.

Viac prezrádzať nebudem. To, že je to veľmi zaujímavý človek, môžeš zistiť v nasledujúcom interview.

Na hudobnej scéne si už niekoľko rokov. Spomínaš si, aké boli začiatky v tvojej kariére?

„Husľovú kariéru som začal na konzervatóriu v Žiline. Sníval som o tom, že budem populárny ako Vanesa Mae, ale bohužiaľ to nevyšlo, lebo som si zlomil zápästie a nedalo sa ďalej napredovať. Tým sa to vlastne u mňa stoplo. Neodložil som však husle na vedľajšiu koľaj. Čo sa týka speváckej kariéry, začalo sa to v Superstar.  Do nej ma prihlásila moja sestra, ktorá sa s tým priznala až v prvom finálovom kole. Zo začiatku som to bral tak trochu ako srandu. Keď začalo ísť do tuhého, už aj mne začalo záležať na tom, aby som naozaj podal čo najlepší výkon.

Priamo na mieste som sa v Superstar učil spievať. Ako študovaný huslista som počul, že idem falošne. Je to tým, že som od malička veľmi nespieval, potom to tak samozrejme aj vyzeralo. (smiech). Neskôr sa mi to zapáčilo, a tak som na sebe začal pracovať. Stretol som sa s rôznymi názormi už po Superstar, že by som mal prestať spievať, v živote nevyjsť na pódium, a tak ďalej. Ale v podstate tým ľuďom ďakujem, lebo mne keď niekto povie, že niečo nezvládnem, tak idem do toho o to viac. Čiže mňa to štartovalo zakaždým, keď mi to niekto povedal a vyústilo to až do takej miery, že som vyhral XFactor. (smiech)“

Tam ťa tiež prihlásila sestra?

„Nie, tam som sa už prihlásil sám.“  🙂 (smiech)

Takže ťa baví, čo robíš?

„Áno, áno, nielen to. Baví ma to, aj ma to napĺňa. Ja som chorý, keď proste netvorím, nehrám. To je niečo, čo je súčasť mňa.“

Keď sa vrátime naspäť k súťažiam, v čom vidíš rozdiel medzi Slovensko hľadá Superstar 2 a XFactor-om? Mali niečo spoločné alebo rozdielne?

„Superstar bola do veľkej miery o tom, že tam sme dostali len hlasovú pedagogičku, ktorá sa nám ako finalistom občas venovala. Vo vile, kde sme bývali, bola dosť stiesnená atmosféra. Nám všetkým bolo jasné, že ideme proti sebe, nech sme sa tvárili ako najlepší kamaráti. Bola tam dosť napätá situácia, zvlášť keď to šlo do finálových kôl.

V X Factore bola atmosféra diametrálne odlišná, taká uvoľnenejšia. Bolo to možno aj tým, že sme boli rozdelení do skupín. Každá skupina mala svojho mentora – niekoho, kto sa nám venoval a o koho sme sa mohli oprieť. Čiže ten stres a celá tá rivalita, sa z nás ako súťažiacich preniesla na nich. My sme to neriešili. My sme mali kľud, mohli sme sa kamarátiť, lebo mentori súťažili proti sebe.“

Zúčastnil si sa nielen speváckych súťaží, ale vyskúšal si si aj rolu porotcu. Aký v tom vidíš rozdiel, že si ten porotca a na druhej strane spevák? Kde si sa cítil lepšie?

„Človek by z toho konkrétneho miesta najradšej pomohol tomu človeku ako len môže, práve v tej chvíli. Aspoň u mňa to tak funguje, že keď ja mám niekoho hodnotiť a ten človek vyjde a zbadám strach v jeho očiach, tak mi je ho veľmi ľúto. Omnoho lepšie sa cítim priamo na pódiu, v kresle porotcu cítim so súťažiacimi.“

Takže to ťa inšpirovalo, aby si mladým ľuďom pomohol a založil svoju agentúru.

„Áno, presne tak. Volá sa Peter Bažík Agentúra. Patria tam výchovné koncerty pre základné a stredné školy, a tiež ďalšie iné veci. A v jednej zo striech , ktorá je pod touto značkou, pomáham mladým talentom. Chcem im odovzdať presne to čo viem, aké mám skúsenosti a čo už mám za sebou. Akordy, texty, tutoriály, ktoré budú v pravidelných intervaloch postupne pribúdať na stránkach a Youtube kanáli.“

A akú najčastejšiu radu dáva začínajúcim spevákom a speváčkam? „Nestačí len chcieť, musíš si veriť, že na to máš!“

Homey concerts can also have a big charm. And the concert of Peter Bažík surely had it. (you can read how it went here – link).

I did an interview just for our MaY with this amazing musician after the performance.

At the beginning here is some information about Peter:

Peter Bažík was born on the 21th June in 1985. He is a singer, a multi-instrumentalist, a songwriter and a producer who likes the tunes of rock music.

This amazing musician comes from Orava (the northern part of Slovakia) and from big family of people devoted to music. He has had a very close connection to it since childhood. He can play the guitar, violin, piano and drums.

He first started playing the violin at a conservatory in Žilina and then after an unexpected participation in a competition started singing.

It was the music competition “Slovensko hľadá Superstar 2” (en. Slovakia is looking for a Superstar 2) where he came in fourth and became one of the most famous singers of this show.

Later, Peter has participated not only as a competitor, but also a judge in various singing contests. He has created his own artistic agency and also some projects through which he is helping young singing talents.

His big talent was fully shown when he won the Czechoslovak version of the world show X Factor in 2014.

In his free time, he enjoys driving, as he himself said: “his children are his kind of sport” and can find motivation in every single day.

Thanks to this interview, I convinced myself that Peter is not “a musician with an excessively high self-esteem” as I thought at first but a charismatic man with a huge amount of positive energy.

I won´t reveal any more about him. You can convince yourself in the following interview that he is a very interesting person.

You have been present in the Slovak music show business for many years already. Do you remember how your carrier looked like in the beginning?

“I have started my violin carrier at a conservatory in Žilina. I dreamed that I would be as popular as Vanesa Mae, but it wasn´t possible to go forward because I broke my wrist. However, I didn´t renounce the violin altogether.

When I talk about my singing carrier, it has started in Superstar. My sister sent in my application for it and she hasn’t admitted it until the first final round. In the beginning I took it as a little joke. When it started becoming to look serious, I myself started to care about putting up the best performance.

I was learning to sing directly at Superstar. As a violinist I could hear that I was out of tune. I haven´t been singing a lot during childhood and then of course it sounded like that. (laughing). Later I started to like it, so I started to work on myself. After Superstar I heard many opinions like “you should stop singing “, “you shouldn’t go on the stage anymore, “and so on. But I thank these people because when somebody tells me that I am not able to manage something, I will go for it even more. Every single remark of that sort pushed me even further to that extend that I won the X-Factor. (laughing)

Did your sister also send in your application for that show?

„No, I applied there on my own. “ (laughing)

So, do you enjoy what you do?

„Yes, yes, and not only that. I feel ill when I’m not creating something or when I don’t play for a while. It’s just a part of me.“

When we come back to the competitions, where do you see the difference between Superstar and XFactor? Were these shows similar or different in any way?

„Superstar was mainly about that we had a voice teacher there, who sometimes worked with us, the finalists. In the villa, where we were living, was a very uneasy atmosphere. We all knew, we competed against each other, even though we acted like best friends. There was a tense situation, especially around the final rounds.

XFactor had a vastly different atmosphere, it was more relaxed. It was maybe because of the fact that we were divided into groups. Each group had a mentor – someone who worked with us and who we could rely on. Thus, the stress and all the rivalry were passed from us competitors to them. We didn´t care about it. We were calm, we could be friends, because the mentors were competing against each other.“

You have been participating in various singing competitions, but have also tried the role of a judge. How is it different, when you are the judge and on the other side is a singer? When did you feel better?

„One would most want to help that person in that time from that specific place, possibly as much as one can. At least for me it works like that. When I have to judge someone, they come out and I see the fear in their eyes, I feel sorry for them. I feel much better right on the stage than in the chair of a judge, where I sympathize with the competitors. “

So, that inspired you to help young people and led you to founding an agency.

„Yes, that´s true. It is called „Peter Bažík Agentúra“ (en. Peter Bažík Agency). This includes educational and motivational concerts for elementary and secondary schools, as well as other things. And in one of the roofs, which is under this brand, I am helping young talents. I want to give them exactly what I know, my own experiences and what I have been through. Chords, lyrics, tutorials will be updated step by step on my webpages and on my Youtube channel.“

And what is the most common advice he gives to young singers? “It is not enough to want something; you have to believe that you can do it! “
